PhotoImpact Pro 13
I've been using PhotoImpact 10 for several years, but it didn't work well with Vista on my new computer, so I purchased Pro 13. One of the features I loved about 10 was the separate GIP Animator, and while 13 is supposed to have the ability to make animated GIFs, I can't figure out how to make it work. Can anyone help?

Yes, I'm doing that. Since I have 13 installed and can't return it, I was planning to uninstall 10, but if I do that, it uninstalls the GIF Animator program as well, so I guess I'll have to keep both on my machine. I'm actually disappointed in 13. It has a few extras, but it doesn't have the Express Fix, something I used all the time. I actually expected it to have the same GIF Animator program as 10, but apparently you're supposed to be able to do GIF animations through the PhotoImpact program itself. I just can't figure out how.

That sucks, I have been considering if it was time to upgrade to 13, but honestly the most used feature that PI has for me is the express fix so 13 not having it is a real negative. I like the other features on occasion, but the express fix is the one thing I do with every picture I take as it allows me to get the picture looking exactly how I want it quickly and easily, so I use it for almost every picture where all the other features I might use here and there (add a border, make an icon, etc).

Actually, I was wrong about that. 13 does have Express Fix. It's just not accessed the way it is in 10. In 10 it's the first option under "Photo," while in 13, it's off to the right, and you toggle between "Express Fix" and "Full Edit." But the presets are underneath, and not as easy to work with as they are in 10. Sometimes what manufacturer's call improvements just aren't.
